Warehouse Coordinator

Sterling Recruitment Services are currently looking to recruit an experienced Warehouse Coordinator for our client based on Riverside Park, Middlesbrough.

Working hours Monday to Friday 8am – 4.30pm

Overall purpose of the role:
To be an integral part of the Logistics Team and Operations Team, you will ensure safe, smooth and efficient logistics operations through proactive load preparation, mobile plant maintenance, good housekeeping, efficient time management and team work. You will also work closely with the shifts and wider operations team to improve procedures. You may also be required to complete other tasks as stipulated by the management team.

Main duties of the role:
Taking a lead in the loading and unloading of vehicles.
Deputise for the quality department with sampling feedstock loads and breakdown information to add to companies feedstock register.
Deputise for the Logistics Coordinator when necessary.
Fulfil Logistics Coordinator weighbridge duties when required with deliveries and despatches. ( full weighbridge training given )
Assist in controlling the movement of material throughout the Yard area
Help maintain high housekeeping standards throughout the yard and production facility.
Work as part of a team that may involve some responsibility for the warehouse and production process
Be proactive in the company’s approach to H&S, ensure health and safety standards are met and surpassed.
Support continuous improvement initiatives and identify inefficiencies and cost optimisation opportunities.
Control weighbridge systems for receipts/despatches and processes to ensure effective stock control.

Competencies & Qualifications
A minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience within warehousing
Valid counterbalance FLT license
Excellent organisational skills
Understanding of logistics and inventory management
Proactive and forward thinking
Highly Organised
Flexible and adaptable approach to day-to-day tasks with the ability to multi-task under pressure
Understanding of logistics and inventory management software
Strong written and oral communication skills
Outstanding analytical, problem solving and organisation skill
Proficient with Microsoft packages (word, excel etc.)
Ability to work autonomously and make decisions under Company guidelines
Assist to ensure all site operations adhere to H&S laws, corporate guidelines, ISO and Environment requirements.
Manage, and develop to a high standard agreed objectives and deliver best practice results, added value and continuous improvements.
Checking of incoming raw materials and outbound materials to ensure compliance with commercial contracts.
Provide assistance in planning, managing and evaluating logistics within the Yard area.
Check all incoming raw materials against the Waste Acceptance Procedure.
Support continuous improvement initiatives and identify inefficiencies and cost optimisation opportunities.
Undertake any other duties as directed by management.
