Senior Planning & Procurement Specialist

Sterling Recruitment are delighted to be working with our industry leading client who are looking to add a Senior Planning & Procurement Specialist to thei esatblished team

Roles and Responsibilties for the role but not limited to:

  • Control of all Returnable Equipment types: Procurement, Planning, Monitoring, Receipting, Declaration
  • Acting as the key co-ordinator with our equipment partners, establish and control order volumes on a weekly basis;
  • Liaising with the Transport Team, plan and control collections of equipment;
  • Liaising with the yard and warehouse operational teams, ensure the accurate receipting of equipment deliveries;
  • Plan the inbound delivery booking schedule and liaise with other stakeholders to ensure seamless interaction between backhaul and shipping partners;
  • Supervise the yard control of pallet types including proper segregation of pooled pallets, heat-treated/non-heat treated and other bespoke pallet types;
  • Ensure accurate and clear messaging between the yard, warehouse and production teams.
  • Accurate processing and declaration of pallet movements (‘de-hire’) to delivery points;
  • Perpetual Inventory and stock counting of all equipment types and SKUs (relevant to area of responsibility) maintaining a high degree of system v physical accuracy at all times;
  • Lead and control internal and external Audits with the support of senior warehouse management;
  • Investigate and rectify stock variances as required;
  • Control of equipment in use for:

-Product rework processes;

– Product issued for disposal.

  • Control of damaged equipment and return or sale into appropriate channels;
  • Control and monitor equipment dwell-time within reasonable set parameters;
  • Regular check of Bill of Materials for accuracy against actual production outputs;
  • Control holiday, sickness and other absence cover for the Yard Team in line with the Company HR policies and in consultation with other Departmental Managers to ensure appropriate labour resource at all times;
  • In conjunction with the Inventory Manager, control day-to-day HR requirements for the Yard Team eg holiday requests, performance reviews, completion of Return to Work interviews as and when required;
  • Compulsory attendance at End of Year Stock Count;
  • Ensure that all Company ‘Health and Safety’ standards, protocols and procedures are adhered to at all times and always working in a ‘Health and Safety’ conscious manner;
  • Any other reasonable duties or tasks as per management instruction.

RequiredSkills and Experience:

  • Ability to follow instruction .
  • Good verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent IT literacy and high level of proficiency with CPMS/WMS systems and Microsoft Word/Excel is essential.
  • Recent Procurement experience is essential, ideally with a minimum of 3 year’s recent experience in a ‘Fast Moving Consumer Goods’ (FMCG) or other Food & Beverage Supply Chain environment.
  • Experience of procuring returnable equipment or other pooled equipment types is preferable.
  • IT literacy and proficiency with SAP and WMS systems is preferred..
  • Ability to make the correct decision when pressurised.
  • Flexibility on working hours and duties..
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
