Purchasing Assistant

Full Time

Sterling Recruitment Services are currently looking to recruit a Purchasing Assistant for our client based in Thirsk.

Key Responsibilities:
The daily running of the department
Import and export clearance management
Working with supply chain on ERP ensuring raw material availability and stock accuracy
Purchasing planning, placing orders
Purchasing tracking
Expediting orders where required
Obtaining/Negotiating price and terms & conditions
Dealing with supplier invoice queries
Maintaining Suppliers Database
Working with regulatory and quality teams on product and supplier approval
Development of good relations with the existing and new suppliers
Dealing with supplier complaints
Liaising with relevant departments
Any other duties as requested by management.
Taking HSE ownership of themselves, others & activities within their areas of responsibility and raising all HSE concerns they become aware of, outside their areas of responsibility, with relevant managers.

Minimum of 3 years in similar role
Proficient knowledge of all Microsoft office Packages, Cliksense, Business Central 365 and strong IT skills
Experience in a FMCG environment desirable 
Strong organisational and planning skills with the ability to prioritise effectively and work under pressure.
A strong work ethic with the ability to show initiative and demonstrate excellent communication skills at all levels.
Be a strong team player with ability to work on cross functional teams and projects
An ability to work on own initiative and to work collaboratively with others.

Must have experience of MRP/ERP systems.
