Maintenance Engineer – Electrical Bias

Full Time

Our client based in Middlesbrough are looking to add an experience Electrical Maintenance Engineer their in-house Engineering team.

Responsible for repairs and preventative maintenance to ensure all products adhere to quality, legal & safety specifications.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Work in accordance with the relevant health and safety procedures and applicable legislation.
Manage and execute all site-related electrical work, including repairing faults, maintenance & improvements and log completed work onto the Workmate system.
Support the management of contractors that are on-site for engineering works, ensuring their compliance with point 1 above
Where necessary, provide support in the writing of risk assessments and method statements.
Ensure the maintenance area is maintained to a high level of housekeeping.
Provide holiday & sickness cover for other Maintenance staff when necessary.
Be able to perform basic mechanical tasks.
Carry out any other duties as reasonably requested by their manager.
Support in the training and development of new starters, apprentices and graduates as required.
Contribute to the development of procedures/ work instructions and continuous improvement activities.
 

Essential Skills/Experience

  • Electrical engineering apprenticeship (or equivalent); 5+ years industrial experience in lieu 
  • Qualified to ONC/HNC level in Electrical Engineering or equivalent

Desirable Skills/Experience:

• Fault – finding and diagnostics on PLC systems
• Fault – finding and diagnostics on relay systems
• Working knowledge of inverter systems
• Working knowledge of feedback systems e.g. Encoder
• Experience of using test equipment
• Experience of safety interlocking systems
• Ability to follow standard machine diagrams
• Computer literacy
• Experience of Health and Safety systems
