CAD Technician

Sterling Recruitment Services are currently recruting for an experienced CAD Technician to join our client in Newton Aycliffe on a permanent basis.

As a CAD Technician, reporting directly to the Manufacturing Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in the product development process by creating detailed and precise CAD drawings. Your work will directly impact the manufacturing process, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and design.

Key Responsibilities:
CAD Design: Utilise CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, BSolid) to create accurate and detailed 2D and 3D drawings for solid surface products, including Countertops, Sinks, Washtroughs, Vanity’s and custom projects.
Drawing Interpretation:  Review architectural and manufacturing drawings to understand project specifications and translate them into CAD designs that align with customer requirements, and manufacturing methods.
Material Selection: Collaborate with production teams to select appropriate materials and finishes, ensuring compatibility with project requirements.
Quality Assurance:  Perform rigorous quality checks on your CAD designs to identify and rectify any errors or discrepancies. Ensure that drawings adhere to company standards and production methods.
Project Co-ordination:  Work closely with project leads, architects, and customers to gather feedback and make necessary revisions to CAD drawings throughout the design and production phases.
Documentation:  Maintain organised records of all CAD drawings, revisions, and project-related documents for reference and future projects.
Technical Support:  Provide technical support and expertise to internal production teams and clients regarding CAD-related inquiries and project details.
Continuous Improvement:  Stay updated on industry trends, CAD software advancements, and manufacturing techniques to enhance your skills and contribute to process improvements. Must be open to new challenges and learning new skills.

Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a CAD Technician or similar role in a manufacturing or construction environment.
Proficiency in CAD software, such as AutoCAD, BSolid, or similar tools.
Strong understanding of Manufacturing and architectural principles.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in creating CAD drawings.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Effective communication skills for liaising with cross-functional teams and clients.
Knowledge of materials and methods used in solid surface manufacturing is a plus.
